Croatia has 8 national parks, which all are excellent spots to visit for anybody who likes nature and natural beauty.

National park Mljet, is situated on the green island Mljet in the southern part of Dalmatia, The Island can be reach by ferry from Dubrovnik or from the peninsula Pelješac. The Park is characterized by two deep bays which are called lakes due to their extremely narrow passages to the open sea (Veliko and Malo jezero/ the Great Lake and the Small Lake).
National park Krka: is situated in middle Dalmatia, about 10 km from Sibenik, Top sight in the Park are its magnificent waterfalls, including the famous Skradinski Buk falls which are one of Croatia’s most famous sights. The park can easily be reached from the motorway A1 which is only few km from the main entrance.
National park Kornati: is situated approximately 15 Nautical Miles from Sibenik and Zadar, the national park is made up of 89 Islands and Islets, this collection of Islands are part of the Kornati archipelago. The entire Kornati Archipelago consist of 147 Cliffs, Islets and Islands, the archipelago has been described by sailors as sailors heaven or heaven on earth
National park Paklenica: The Paklenica Riviera is an excellent choice for an active holiday, where water sport activities, hiking, and climbing can easily be combined. Near the seacoast is a natural Croatian Climbing Centre with 400 equipped routes designed appropriately for the amateur climber or the expert climber. Plus, annually in April and May, big wall speed climbing competitions take place in Velika Paklencia canyon.
National park Sjeverni Velebit: is the youngest national park in Croatia. The national park which is situated in the northern section of the Velebit mountains (the largest mountain in Croatia), the national park which covers and area 109 km² was founded in 1999. The whole area of the Velebit Mountains is a nature park, which is a lesser category of nature conservation.
National park Risnjak: is situated in the Gorski kotor, in the most forested region of the country, the national park covers and area of 63.5 km2, and is an excellent spot for hiking. The park is a bit difficult to reach, but the beauty of the nature compensates for that.
National park Brijuni: is situated on 14 island, just of the coast by Fazana in Istria, the national park used to be the summer residence of former Yugoslavian President Tito, who spend up to 6 month a year on the mail Island. As left over from that period, the National park host a Tito Museum, a Safari park and the ruins of a Zoo build for Tito.
National park Plitvice: is situated in the Lika region a few hours drive from the Adriatic coast, the national parks I on of the most visited sight in Croatia, with more then 1 million yearly visitors. The national park covers and area of more then 300 km2, which also makes it one of the largest national parks in Europe.
